About this item

Bring Obatala to you, no matter where you are

Obatalá is the source of all that is pure, wise peaceful and compassionate.

He has a warrior side though through which he enforces justice in the world.

Know him:

Obatala is the only Orisha who has both masculine and feminine qualities. There are, therefore, some female depictions of Obatala.

He is known as the Sky Father and the creator of humanity. In his story Obatala ascends from the heavens with a hen and pigeon to help disperse the soil to create land. His energy is associated with restoration of life, insight, and empathy.

Working with Obatala:

Obatala brings clarity and peace to the mind and home. He is also petitioned in order to gain inner peace, tranquility harmony, and purity. You can invoke him during times of high stress, anxiety, brain fog, and/or turmoil. Obatala is also involved in Karmic Justice so if you think someone has done karmic injustice to you, you can call him for help. He will also help you and make you strong.

His Colors:

Obatala, meaning king of the white cloth, is the eldest of all Orishas.

Always dressed in white, Obatala represents purity and calmness. White is considered the most sacred of all of the colors in Santeria, as it symbolizes Obatala.

His number is 8:

He is the Orisha of leadership, knowledge, justice, those who are handicapped and the military.

His unwavering dedication to truth and clarity are symbolized by his all white attire. He is portrayed as an older man in white robes holding a staff or torch.
